We hear "Heart-based living" and we become afraid.
"But I can't let my Heart lead all the time, what if I make a mistake or do something impractical?"
"I would practice this all the time, but sometimes gossip just feels really good."
"That just sounds like a lot of pressure. It's easier to return to my Heart when I feel out of alignment, but for now I think I'm doing okay."
When did our perception of the Heart ever require perfection?
Heart-based living is about remembering. Remembering that it is in our cosmic makeup to feel connected to each other, because we all come from the same matter and Source energy. Remembering that it feels good to follow our intuition and make decisions that don't always seem rational or predictable, because that inner-knowing is far more valuable than reason and knowledge.
And it's also about forgetting. It means we allow ourselves the space and compassion to make mistakes. To fall back into our old patterns when we feel absolutely unsupported because it is often through solitude and unconsciousness that we create the opportunity to remember. Heart-based living strives to break old patterning that hurts others, and especially ourselves, but there is no rigid or linear way to live from the Heart.
We are doing it every moment of every day. But can we bring awareness into this way of living? Can we intend to bring more love, more abundance, more consciousness into our lives?
This is more than the bare minimum.
This is more than being kind to others because we now understand them to be reflections of ourselves.
This is about challenging each other and ourselves, holding space when it gets uncomfortable and holding ourselves accountable.
As I wrote many moons ago, and continue to reference and affirm:
"I am affirming that my journey is less about going 'further' and more about rejecting a subscription to linear thinking altogether. I retreat inwards, and perhaps backwards, to go forwards. I am merging with the cypher and remain in constant contact with past versions of myself, for they all resonate in one way or another."
Every iteration of ourselves is Divine. No, not perfect or finished. But Divine.
This simply means that it is a beautiful position to be in, because there is the possibility for growth and the opportunity for reflection. It doesn't mean we get to excuse our harmful behavior or avoid doing the real investigative and transforming work.
It just means that our Hearts are supporting us, every step of the way, and we are in the perfect place to return to them if we feel we've strayed away.
I am learning, growing, evolving and dying every single day. I'm not a master, I'm not your healer. I am alongside you in the path to remembering and I applaud you for showing up for yourself every day.
Thank you for being here, and welcome to the Heart's palace.
